Important Information for Military Vets
How to Get the VA to Pay For Your Acupuncture Treatments, Massage Therapy (and more)
Talk to your Primary Care Provider (PCP), Pain Management Team (PMT), Pain Management Coordinator (PMC), or Psychiatrist.
If you have chronic pain, recent pain or injury, chronic health conditions or mental health concerns, or if you will be/or have had a recent surgery: these are all conditions acupuncture or massage therapy can help with! The VA now recognizes acupuncture’s effectiveness at treating these conditions. Ask your doctor to put in a referral for acupuncture.
Choosing your clinic
If the acupuncture clinic at the VA does not have an opening for a new patient in a reasonable amount of time, the VA will send your referral to the Office of Community Care. The VA usually assigns patients to the clinics closest to the listed home address, so if you want to go to a specific clinic, you may need the NPI number. (The VA will use the name” Lake Plaza Acupuncture and Chiropractic” to verify.)
Our clinic’s NPI number is 1093386419
